Judy Smith-Torrie, Executive Director

Judy Smith TorrieJudy Smith Torrie is Executive Director of the Go Green Together Centre. She directs the operations of the Centre and works with the community to implement a comprehensive Climate Action Plan for the Town of Cobourg in cooperation with the Town, the public, local groups and businesses.

Judy has been an environmental consultant for thirty years and is co-founder of Torrie Smith Associates specializing in energy, climate change and environmental assessment. She was a Director of the Ontario International Development Corporation and the Joint Environmental Advisory Committee for Environment Canada and Statistics Canada that produced the first and only complete State of the Environment Report for Canada.

Judy chairs the Environmental Advisory Committee for the Town of Cobourg.

Rich Tyssen, Community Organizer

Richard Tyssen is Community Organizer and staff support for Go Green Together.  Richard has a Master in Environmental Studies degree. He is actively involved on environmental issues, particularly those around sustainable urban planning.  He sits on the Planning Advisory Committee for the Town of Cobourg.

As Community Organizer, Richard oversees the Bicycle Action Plan, Clothespin Project, Solar Unlimited Network (SUN) project, and the Climate Change Action Contests.

Richard Homme, Communications Coordinator

With a background in music, multimedia, web administration, technical writing, programming and IT, Richard serves as Communications Coordinator for Go Green Together. Richard oversees website development and maintenance, mailing lists, media releases, development of promotional materials, and event planning.

Richard is the one to talk to if you have questions about the website, want to be placed on the email notification list, or want to know more about upcoming events.

Neil Hamilton, Lead Energy Advisor

Neil HamiltonAs Lead Energy Advisor, Neil performs Go Green Together’s Residential and Non-residential Energy Audits.

Neil is a trained mechanical engineer with over twenty years experience in project management, applied engineering, and production management. He has NRCan certification for energy audits, and has expertise in renewable energy and energy conservation.

 

Gord Burdick - Green with Envi, Environmental Installer

Gord BurdickAs head of Green with Envi, Gord has been contracted by Go Green Together to work on the frontlines of the Toilet Replacement Program.

He has been trained to install the Niagara Flapperless line of toilets and is committed to working with clients to ensure a top-quality job.

 

 

 

Intern

Amanda Friedrich – Environmental Outreach Intern

As Environmental Outreach Intern, Amanda is responsible for bringing Go Green Together to all corners of Northumberland County this summer. Watch out for her and a Go Green Together team at your local farmers markets as well as summer festivals and parades. She is also lead liaison with the Bicycle Action Committee.
